There’s been a pall cast over the Fenway in recent months. A devastating fire ripped through one block on Peterborough in January, destroying 7 restaurants that had provided sustenance and verve to this area. Ever get tired of the confusion and chaos that so many coffeehouses have become? You wait in line. Baristas yell out a cacophony of orders every few seconds. The tables are full, so there’s nowhere to sit. Strollers block the aisles. If you do find a seat, you are jostled and bumped by people on [...]

So what can you buy for less than $300,000 in the South End? The answer used to be “virtually nothing.” These days, however, the answer is “not much.” But still, that’s better than nothing. We found what appears to be a real steal on the market: a one-bedroom condo near Massachusetts and Columbus Avenue for [...]

Author Richard Florida has been all over the airwaves lately discussing how the economic crash will reshape America. It’s his view that the current economic crisis will accelerate longterm changes already afoot. For instance, he forsees the continued decline of certain Rust Belt cities, like Detroit, Cleveland and St. Louis, and the growing eminence of powerful [...]
