Second Homes that are a REAL Luxury

A second home in Boston means a brick townhouse right?

Well, not necessarily. There are dozens of new luxury high-rise condo developments going up in Boston, offering modern amenities, gleaming new kitchens, lots of windows, and loft-like expanses. While they may be short on “old-world charm,” these developments are attractive to foreign buyers for many other reasons. For one, the pipes don’t freeze when apartments are not occupied in February. Also, there’s a concierge in most of these buildings to water plants and bring in the mail. Finally, most of these developments are located in prime locations, right next door to shops, restaurants, theatres or the waterfront.

And here’s something else to consider: unlike in other parts of the United States (like Miami, for instance), large high-rise condos have never been a big part of the Boston housing market. That means that any property bought as an investment is likely to retain its value, simply because the city has not been overbuilt.  Here are just a few developments going up in the city:
